Or, why the sysadmin should never take a day off.
I took the day off yesterday (to buy a car as it happens) and had my mobile switched off all day. One of the gigabit ethernet switches at work took the opportunity to get wedged. The other IT guy with a key to the comms room was in Crete; and the admin lady with a key was on a late flexi-time day. So all was truly stuffed until mid-morning when she got in.
The webmaster helpfully power-cycled the switch, and it then wedged every hour 'til mid-afternoon.
What shall I replace my Netgear GS508T's with?
